I swear I'm way cooler now...but also, find me in 5 years--the best is yet to come. ha!
For reference, my second kid was born in 2021.
And that labor was quite a bit different from my first.
Now, I think plenty of people can be kick-ass prenatal yoga teachers without ever having given birth. I’m just saying I was not one of them.
Let me give you an example—after the birth of my first, I was pretty (quietly) anti-epidurals.
And then in labor with my second, I thought, “Oh THIS is why people get epidurals! OUCH!”
Up until that point, I hadn’t experienced an unpleasant birth where I really had to employ coping techniques.
I hadn’t experienced common pregnancy aches and pains that I had to tend to and be mindful of throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Listen, when I was pregnant with my first, my only true symptom was not having my period for nine months.
I remember thinking “Oh yeah, I could do this a million times. I guess we’re gonna have ten kids.” HA.
Anyway, I share this to say that I’m way cooler now because I’ve suffered with you. Okay, sorta kidding, sorta not.
What I’m trying to say is that I’m learning right there along with you.
I’m happy to share my experience, and I actively strive to be open-minded and really listen to yours. It can be so hard to experience something ourselves one way and still make sense of or be empathetic to other people’s experiences that happened in a very different way.
I’m thankful to be part of your journey in some small way, and I’d love to hear your story.
Check out my "Start Here" page--let's journey together.
Send me an email. Tell me how you’re doing.
If you’re prepping for birth, how’s your prep going?
If you’re beyond that stage of life, how can I support you?
There’s always a safe and open space for you in my inbox and in my classes. I hope to see you soon. <3
