How to Ground Yourself When Everything Around You Is Changing

November 6, 2023

What’s something you’ve never done before? I’ve never had 3 kids before (that’s about to change…any day now!). I’ve never been a mom to a 4-year-old before. I’ve given birth twice, but not three times and not to this baby. I could go on forever with these little things that are actually pretty BIG.

Here’s my point:

The unknown can be as wondrous as it is terrifying.

And so how do you prepare for what you don’t know? How do you know what you don’t know??

I’ve found that one of the best things we can do, rather than trying to prepare for each detail of The Unknown, is to prepare our minds for whatever may lie ahead.

For some, that means following a guided meditation while taking slow, deep breaths.

(Breathing Anchor for Your Wandering Mind and Compassion for the Whole Body are two of my favorites in the Birth & Beyond library.)

For others, that might mean pairing birth affirmations with a moving yoga flow to unite body and mind in a place of peace and calm.

(This is where the Yoga for Birth Prep class really shines!)

Wherever you are on your journey, I’m here to help make your “unknown” more on the wondrous side of things. And especially if you're pregnant, check out Preparing for Birth. Let’s bring a little more peace into your life.
